A new program for seniors that I introduced this year, was called the “Model Experience”.  This was to take the place of my reps.  Now, I loved having reps, mostly because I got to work with them their entire senior year.  They had the opportunity to earn bonus photo shoots.  Well, the NEW program, was you pay one session fee for whichever level of “Model Experience” you wanted (based on how many bonus shoots you wanted).  Everyone has a main shoot in the summer, and then the bonus shoots are during the fall/winter.  They can have one bonus shoot or two bonus shoots.  And what the bonus shoots are, is completely up to them!  I ask what they want to do, and we go do it!  Most of the bonus shoots will be with one or two other models, and that just adds to the fun.  These two are sisters, so it just made sense for them to do the bonus shoots together!

This bonus shoot we did was out at the beach. Who doesn’t love a beach shoot?!  Here are a couple of sneak peeks of two of my models:

It is that time of year again!  Time to start working on the graduation announcements.  If you had a shoot with me this year, you probably saw the graduation announcements that I offer.  I told you that I don’t take orders for them until after February, remember?  Well, it’s time!  Don’t worry, this design appointment won’t take nearly as long as your first viewing/ordering appointment.  You have already seen your photos, you know which are your favs, so this next part is pretty quick and painless.  In the past, they have taken about 15 minutes.  If you are interested in making an announcement appointment, send me a quick email letting me know when is best for you to come by.

If you have NOT had a shoot with me yet, it isn’t too late!  We still have time to have a great session, get beautiful portraits, and get your custom graduation announcements back.  All before graduation!  While it isn’t too late now, it will be too late soon.  So you don’t want to wait too much longer to get on my calendar.  This last semester flies by, and towards the end of the semester, you and your family will be busy with graduation plans and parties.  Trust me!  If you would like to talk to me about a shoot, please email me ~ jpsearcyphotography@gmail.com or call/text me 407-977-6296.

Can you believe that it is already time to talk about the next class of seniors? Class of 2020!  As early is it is, I’m feeling it is a little late for me.  Being that back when I used senior reps, I started looking for the next class at the beginning of January.  Last year (class of 2019) I didn’t do a rep program.  I always loved having reps, but hated having to pick the reps.  There are so many amazing girls, and I wanted to take all of them!  So, last year, I said NO MORE!!  I did introduce a “Model Experience”, which was basically all of the perks of a rep with none of the work (and no applications!).  It was fantastic!  And if there is interest, I’d be happy to do a version of the model experience for the class of 2020.  Just let me know if you are interested.

I have been in business 13 years now.  That is crazy to me!  My first seniors are turning 30!  And my new seniors (class of 2020) were in preK/kindergarten!  It has been one heck of a ride!  This past year, you may have noticed, I have cut back some on the sessions that I am taking.  With my kiddos being grown (my baby is in the class of 2020!), I’m having the opportunity to do other things as well.  (Gotta keep things interesting!).  Now, I can’t imagine stopping photography all together.  Photo sessions and meeting some amazing seniors make me happy!  Not to mention, I have promised MY senior that I would at least keep going for his class ;).  In the past 13 years, what seniors want change almost every year!  I like to stay on top of what they are wanting, so the entire experience, from the booking to getting the prints back at the end, is a great experience and exceeds their expectations.  So, for the class of 2020, I’m putting out a little survey.  This is your opportunity to tell me what YOU want!  I will take all of the info and answers you give me to heart, and I can cater my offerings to what YOU want!

This will take you just a few minutes, and it is open for seniors AND their parents.  Who ever wants to fill it out (or BOTH of you can fill it out!).  To say THANK YOU to those who participate, if you end up booking a senior shoot with me, I will include a complimentary gift print with your order (a gift print is an 8×10 or a 5×7, and is valued at $40).  And to sweeten the pot, I will randomly draw 3 names in one week.  Two will get $100 credit on their order (can be used towards the session fee OR print order), and one will get a complimentary session fee (for one location) AND a complimentary gift print with their order.  How I am going to do this random selection, is each entry will get put your name on a slip of paper, and I will have my oldest son reach in the pot and choose the 3 winners.  Even if you don’t win one of the 3 top prizes, you will still get a free gift print with your order AND you get to tell me what you are looking for so I can be the perfect photographer for you!

In the meantime, make sure to share this with your friends (doesn’t matter what school they go to), and follow me on social media.  I’m easy to find.  I’m jpsearcy everywhere! (instagram, snapchat, twitter) On facebook, it is under JPSearcy Photography.  And if you have more to tell me or talk about for your shoot, feel free to email me at jpsearcyphotography@gmail.com.

And lastly, a blog post without photos is boring!  Here are a few random senior photos <3

The first bonus shoot we did was out at Sledd’s Farm in Mims.  The girls wanted sunflowers!  Well, unfortunately, the crop wasn’t great this year for sunflowers, BUT we did find some, AND their maze was full of yellow sun hemp, so I think we totally got the look they were going for!  Here are a couple of sneak peeks of two of my models:

Next senior up on the blog, is a super sweet and beautiful Sarah!  We had such a great time on our shoot at Kraft Azalea.  That location is always one of my favorites.  Nice and small park, with great light, and lots of nature!  Her mom and cousin joined the session, not only to fill the role of “guest snapchatter”, but to also be Sarah’s personal assistants.  I love it when family is able to join the senior for their shoot.  It helps the senior feel more relaxed and it is helpful to have an extra set of hands to help with the wardrobe.  I enjoyed getting to know Sarah a little better, and get her some beautiful senior photos.  She is such a fun and sweet girl!

Next senior up on the blog is beautiful Allie!  Her family is another one that I have worked with in the past, for both her big sister’s senior photos AND for family photos.  So, I already knew we would have a great session ;). Allie started off the shoot with a good attitude, but said she was just doing this for her mom.  However, after we got started, she started having fun!  And she should, because she was so photogenic, and had such a gorgeous serious face!

Next senior up on the blog is AJ!  I had such a great time meeting and photographing him at Rollins.  I photographed his sister a few years ago, so I was excited when his mom called to set up AJ’s shoot.  (I love it when families are so happy with their experience, they come back to me!). Typically when moms book their guys for their senior session, they (the guys) want me to just get this over with as quick and painlessly as possible.  But then they realize it isn’t nearly as bad as getting their yearbook photos, and they relax and even have a little fun.  AJ was so great, and just wanted to have good photos, so I didn’t need to rush at all.

Next senior up on the blog is the gorgeous Francesca!  We had such a great time on our shoot at Rollins and Dickson Azalea.  Those two locations give a nice variety of backgrounds for us to work with.  She was such a natural in front of the camera, makes my job easy!  She seemed to have both the smiles AND serious faces nailed (which isn’t easy to do, especially in summer heat!).

Next senior up on the blog, is the beautiful Abby!  Abby had a deluxe (two location) session.  Since she is on the water polo team, she wanted the pool as one of her locations.  I love being able to go to different places!  The second location she chose was Casa Feliz.  This is one of my favorite places, because it was one of my very first locations that I started shooting at over 10 years ago.  The one tricky part about Casa, is that I prefer to shoot it in the afternoon.  Afternoon in the summer is tough.  Not only is it really hot out, it is also a good chance that it will be raining.  (And I have to book it in advance).  So, basically all the stars need to be aligned!  This afternoon was no exception.  It was rainy all afternoon, but we kept in touch and when it looked like there was going to be a break in the rain, we headed over.  The rain gods smiled on us, and held off for us to do our shoot.  So glad that we could have a good day to have this sweet girl’s shoot!

Next senior up on the blog, is the beautiful Kaila!  I had such a great time with Kaila, her mom, and her friends who came along.  Kaila is a super sweet girl, who was full of smiles and up for anything (including getting crashed by waves). She and her mom wanted a location with water, so what better place than the beach?! Beach equals really early morning, but it is always worth it.  I’ve never had a “bad morning” at the beach.  Sure it is early, but you can always take a nap when you get back home ;).
