Well, this family session was a first for me. This was a top secret family session / marriage announcement! After being together for 27 years, this lovely couple decided it was time to get married! So, half of the shoot was to get some beautiful updated family photos, but the other half was to get some gorgeous photos of the newly married couple. I had a great time meeting and photographing this wonderful family.
Introducing the newlyweds and their “kids”:
Next senior up on the blog is Zachary! He is such a great guy! I photographed his older brother a couple of years ago, AND then I photographed his entire family too! That was the first time I met him. Now, he may not have been totally excited to wake up early for a photo shoot on his summer break ;), but he was a great sport and did it for his mom. And I tried to make it as painless as possible for him. I tell the guys that I shoot, I can get a lot of great shots in a short amount of time IF they aren’t totally into it. Other guys don’t mind, and end up having fun, so we take a little longer. It is completely up to the comfort level of each senior. That’s why I don’t have specific session times, and why I only shoot one senior per day. The shoot takes as long as it takes! Some are 45 minutes, some are closer to 2 hours. (They still all end up with around the same amount of photos to choose from). The senior shoots are about the SENIOR. Whatever they want, is what they get!

Next senior up on the boy is Stephan! I am so excited to have more guys on my calendar this summer! I usually get a couple every year, but this year is off to a great start with guys booking their shoots too. Note to the senior guys, I promise, I will make this as painless as possible for you. No crazy posing, no 3 hour sessions. Just relaxed, and having somewhat of a good time ;), and getting you lots of great photos. Not to mention, I’m sure you will score some points with mom! She might even take you out to breakfast after the shoot 😉
Stephan was great. Such a nice guy. Totally relaxed and laid back for his shoot. He didn’t want a location with a lot of people around, so we chose Kraft Azalea. It was perfect for him. Lots of nature, not a lot of people, and not a big spread out location. I think he even had a little bit of fun 😉

Next family up on the blog, is the family of a past senior! I love when families come back to see me. It’s great to catch up AND get them some new beautiful photos! Even though I am pretty sure, this was not tops on the boys’ lists to do, they were great sports (and I think that they even, maybe, had a little bit of fun too! It’s so great that all of the family wanted to do this for mom.
We had a great time on our shoot at Kraft Azalea. It is a beautiful park, however at this time of year, it is packed solid with lots of families getting their Christmas pictures! Thankfully, we can all work well around each other so everyone gets beautiful images 😉 Here are a few sneak peeks from our shoot:
Next senior up on the blog, is the beautiful Cassidy! I had such a great time meeting her and her mom for her senior shoot out at Kraft Azalea in Winter Park. Cassidy is such a natural beauty, I loved having her in front of my lens. She told me she loves photography as well. Now I know, photographers typically like being on the OTHER side of the camera, but she did so great being the subject for the day. She relaxed and had fun, so we could get some great photos of her to help mark this milestone!

Next senior up on the blog, is a super sweet and beautiful Sarah! We had such a great time on our shoot at Kraft Azalea. That location is always one of my favorites. Nice and small park, with great light, and lots of nature! Her mom and cousin joined the session, not only to fill the role of “guest snapchatter”, but to also be Sarah’s personal assistants. I love it when family is able to join the senior for their shoot. It helps the senior feel more relaxed and it is helpful to have an extra set of hands to help with the wardrobe. I enjoyed getting to know Sarah a little better, and get her some beautiful senior photos. She is such a fun and sweet girl!

The next sneak peek on the blog is a little different – an ENGAGEMENT session!! (Yes, on occasion, I photograph something other than seniors 😉 ). It was so much fun, and they are such a gorgeous couple (I mean, come on, how stunning are they both?!)! I have been photographing this bride-to-be for many years now. Starting with family photos with her and her siblings, and then her senior photos, and now the next step – engagement photos! I think it is amazing to be able to follow a family thru milestones like this.

I am SO excited to welcome in the new class of seniors! Welcome to the class of 2019! I have a feeling this is going to be such a fun summer, meeting and photographing all of the new seniors. I already have lots of seniors on my calendar for June and July and even a couple for August. Summer IS hot, but it is the prime time to get senior photos taken. (And don’t worry, I shoot early morning, so we aren’t really too affected by the heat.) The reason it is the prime time to get them taken, is this is when you have the most open and flexible schedule. I can shoot any day of the week, compared to when school starts, where we are limited to just weekends. Once school starts, so does all of the craziness of senior year! Classes, homework, extra curriculars, SAT, ACT, etc. It may not feel like it now, but senior year FLIES by. If you put it off too long, then it just becomes something you are trying to work in and get done, instead of letting it be a fun and relaxing experience! Bottom line, the earlier you can get your senior photos done, the better! So, if you haven’t yet chosen your senior photographer, I hope you consider me. I will not only get you beautiful photos to mark this important milestone in your life, but we will have a great time doing it! If you want to talk to me more about photo session, or if you are ready to get on my calendar, please feel free to contact me! email@example.com, or message me on any of my social media pages (I’m JPSearcy everywhere 😉 ).
Now, onto my very first senior of the year – Faith! She is such a sweet girl. I met her a few years ago when her older sister came to me for her senior photos. She wanted hers to be different than her sister’s, so she picked out two locations that her sister didn’t. We went to Stetson (my first time there!) and Kraft Azalea. Both very beautiful spots! And I could tell early on in our shoot that we were going to have a fun time. She was full of laughs, especially when her sister was helping out. Her mom and sister kept themselves entertained with control of my snapchat for the shoot. And I learned that she has a fear of heights! Doesn’t matter if it is just a couple of feet off the ground ;). So, we kept her pretty close to the ground for the entire shoot. I got lots of great laughing photos of her, and lots of just plain beautiful photos of her. (both smiling and not smiling). I can’t wait to show her all of them. But for now, h

Almost done with the class of 2018, but not quite yet! I had a great time meeting Jacob and his mom for his senior session at Kraft Azalea. Our first scheduled shoot date got rained out, but this day was pretty darn close to perfect weather! If it looks like it is going to rain, or if it looks like it won’t be great out for photos, I am happy to reschedule. I rather have a day that I know you are going to love! We had a good day to shoot, and a very nice guy to photograph! In addition to the regular photos, Jacob also wanted to get some photos with the jeep that he and his dad rebuilt. I love it when the seniors want to incorporate something special to them!
Here are a few sneak peeks from his shoot:
Next senior up on the blog is Julia! We had a great time at her deluxe (two location) session at Rollins and Kraft Azalea. Joining her was her mom, AND her pup! I love when seniors bring their puppies with them. As long as someone is there to take care of the dog, and you understand that dogs can be worse to pose than toddlers! Haha! Dad was able to swing by and pick up the pup and then the focus could go back to Julia 😉 She is gorgeous, and a total sweetheart. Not to mention, a natural in front of the camera. All made for a great shoot!
