It isn’t often that I get called for a newborn session, but boy do I love them when I do! This sweet little girl was no exception. So gorgeous, so sweet, and so brand new! For newborn sessions, it is best to get them to me before they turn 2 weeks old. Typically then they are still pretty sleepy. This little girl was supposed to be sleepy, but she showed who was in charge. She wanted to be awake and see everything going on! That’s ok, I’m patient, I’ll wait. So, we got some awake photos, and some sweet sleepy photos. All in all, it was a great shoot!
Here are a few sneak peeks from our session:
I got a call to do a family shoot last week. A entire family, including the dogs. And if you have dogs, you know, they are our kids. Unfortunately, the puppy (ALL dogs are puppies in my eyes, no matter how old they are) is getting older and isn’t doing very well. The family wanted to have some photos of him, as well as take him out and give him some great last days. As hard as it is, I know they will be glad to have these. You can tell how much little Joel is loved, and he could feel it too.
Here are a few sneak peeks from our shoot:
While I may be a little biased, I have to say, my newest little nephew is the most precious, cutest little thing! I flew out to Seattle last week to meet the little guy, and I fell in love. Not only is he beautiful, but he is the best, most easy going baby ever! Don’t know what my sister and her husband did to deserve such a perfect new baby, but it must have been something big! And while I was there, of course, there had to be photos taken. I couldn’t bring all of my gear, so I had to make due with what I could pack on a plane. But I brought enough to get some beautiful photos of this precious baby. I wanted to share a few sneak peeks (and there will be lots more posted on Facebook, so make sure you check back to see those later!).
There aren’t too many people that I will make a special trip down to photograph. Don’t get me wrong, I will arrange to travel for shoots, but usually I have to line up a few to make the trip. (I hate driving!) But for family, I am happy to do it!
It has been a while since I had a little newborn to photograph! They are so sweet and soft and squishy, what’s not to love?! With such a beautiful momma (seriously, who looks that good after having a baby less than 2 weeks ago?!), of course her little girl will be gorgeous! After working REALLY hard to get her to sleep, we played with different blankets and hair bows and hats. The longest part of newborn sessions is always the getting them settled and sleepy. After that, it moves really quickly! The entire time, the “big sister” in this family was patiently waiting for her turn to be photographed. Nudging me often, reminding me that she was still there waiting. And then finally! It was her turn! She leaped into her place, and looked right at me. She was hilarious! (See the sneak peeks below to see the baby’s beautiful big sister). Mom, Dad, Baby, and Sister all together, what a beautiful family.
Here are a few sneak peeks from their shoot:
The third and final challenge was to get my niece and nephew in a photo together. Normal kiddos at this age is difficult (almost 4 and 1). But when you are related to the kiddos, it gets a lot harder! They are used to playing with you, so they aren’t always aiming to please the photographer ;). Thankfully, all the stars were aligned and I got a few keepers of them together. What made me laugh (literally out loud), was when my niece asked if we got enough and were done yet. I told her that I wanted to get a big smile from her brother and then we were done. She gets a devilish little grin on her face, and before I know it, she is making him smile with her hands. Those kids crack me up! Here is that one, and a couple other sneak peeks:
I have been dying to get my camera on this little guy. I haven’t gotten to do photos of him for a year! It is my sweet, little man, nephew. When we were down in Ft. Lauderdale, I had my opportunity to do a session of him. I stole him away, and we went snapping away. I was surprised with how tolerant of me he was! My little future GQ model ;). Here are a few sneak peeks from our session: (isn’t he the cutest little guy?!)
Now, if you follow me at all, you know that it is pretty rare that I will run a sale. But this year, I am getting caught up in all the Black Friday fun. So I thought to do a Black Friday sale MY way. No crazy waiting in lines, no pushing or shoving, no having to get up at 2am. All you have to do is give me a quick call, during normal people hours, and you get a gift that no one will want to return! But I didn’t want it to stop with just Friday. There is also a relatively new thing (or at least it is new to me) – Small Business Saturday. This is when you support local small businesses in your area.
So . . . the details!!! You have two options for the sale. Option #1 – Pre-purchasing a session for $225 (local session for a family session, kid session, senior session, or engagement session to be held anytime between 1/1/13-4/1/13 – includes session fee and print package) OR Option #2 Gift Certificates! The gift certificates can be used towards session fees and/or prints. The higher the dollar amount you purchase, the more you get for free! Either of these two options can be purchased for yourself or can be purchased for someone else for the perfect gift! Call during the hours listed, and let me know which option you want! If you receive voicemail, it just means I am on the phone with someone else taking advantage of the Black Friday-Small Business Saturday-Holiday sale! Just please leave a message for me and let me know which option you would like, and I will get back with you as soon as I can!
‘Tis the season for family photos! This was very evident when we got to Kraft Azalea for our family session. There were at least 10 photographers all around. Thankfully, Kraft can accommodate lots of different groups all photographing at the same time. Still though, it is making me think that I need to find some “exclusive” new locations. Ones that are not overrun with other photographers. In the new year, I will start the hunt ;). If you have a unique property that you wouldn’t mind me using on occasion, or if you know of a great little hidden spot, let me know! There may be something in it for you, hint hint ;).
This little one just stole my heart immediately. She is pretty attached to her momma right now, so she stayed close by at all times. But her expressions and smiles were awesome. I give it just a few more years, and she will be one of my future models. We had a great time, and even got in a couple of wardrobe changes. Which is a big deal for a one year old!
One last tidbit before their sneak peeks. If you are ever in need of a fabulous DJ, dad just happens to be one! He is a firefighter, but DJs as a side job. And I can personally vouch for him, because he DJ-ed my party I had this past summer. If you want “DJ Jelly” info, email me or message me and I will get you in touch!
On to the sneak peeks:
After a summer full of seniors, it was a great change of pace to photograph a little guy and his mommy and daddy! Of course I love my seniors, and always will. But I do have a special place in my heart for families and little kids too! So, even though you see a lot of seniors on my blog and site, remember me for your family photos too! With holidays around the corner (yes, holiday photos start late summer/early fall!), it is just about time to get your family session on my calendar!
It was such a pleasure to meet this sweet family. It was the little man’s 1st birthday! And what a great way to celebrate! Family photos, first birthday photos, and finished up with messy cupcakes. Here are a few sneak peeks from their session:
I started photographing big sister about 5 years ago, and I just adore her. She is a great little model for me now, and knows exactly what to expect. I was SO excited to hear that she had a little sister on the way! Another sweet little girl to photograph and love!
When it was time for baby sister’s newborn photos, of course we had to get a couple with big sister too. We started with the baby, but I could tell that she was anxious to get started on her photos too, so, we stopped and did the sister photos, and then went back to the baby ones ;). At first, we didn’t think that baby sister was going to sleep at all for us! She was wide awake and so curious to what was going on. And when I saw the (awake) one, I knew I wanted that to be a sneak peek for sure. She had a little sassy look on her face, like “what are you messing with my naps for lady?!”. But then she fell asleep and we got to do all the fun hats and blankets and rugs. I tell you, once they are asleep, they are SO much easier! Hahaha!
Anyway, here are her sneak peeks. Hope you love them!
