Another downtown senior session!  Lately I have been finding that we can get everything we need just right in the Church Street area.  Such an interesting mixture I can get just from that one area!

This senior (much like all my seniors so far this year) was very excited about her shoot.  And she was such a doll!  Didn’t even get shaken at all when we had “company” approach us during our shoot.  Just kept trucking along, and was making mental notes of photography stuff (she is getting a new camera real soon, so was taking in all the pointers she could get!).  I had fun, and I hope you (and mom and aunt) did too!

Beach sessions make me nervous.  I absolutely LOVE the end results and that is why I continue to offer them, but shooting them makes me nervous.  The sunrise ones do, because I am so afraid I am going to oversleep (has never happened, but still!).  And the afternoon ones do, because I am so afraid of the weather in the afternoons.  Well, this day, it was storming something fierce in Orlando.  I was certain that it would end up being a rain out.  BUT, you never know!  So, we headed out to New Smyrna Beach, and what do you know?  It was PERFECT there!  I guess the rain kept everyone else away, because we practically had the beach to ourselves.  AND, the clouds did such a great job of keeping us somewhat cool, and kept the sun hidden (SO much better for photos if the sun is hiding!).  Now, the weather was working well, what about the senior?

Couldn’t have asked for better there!  She was beautiful, adorable, and so model-like!  She was perfectly comfortable in front of the camera, and being totally relaxed like that, how could we go wrong?!  She didn’t even blink when I asked her to lay down in the water for the end of the session.  Ha!  I have to say, so far, I am LOVING the class of 2011!

If YOU are a 2011 senior, and haven’t yet booked your session (not talking about the yearbook ones, I am talking about the FUN ones with me,  like this!), what are you waiting for?!  Summer dates are filling up, so you are going to want to get on my calendar pretty soon.  Once school starts up again, you know your schedule will be crazy, so best to get them done in the summer when you have the most free time!

And now her beautiful sister, Kirsten!  Both of these girls were such a delight to photograph.  Here are a few of  Kirsten that I really liked (and again, another sister shot too!):

Oh, this session was fun!  A little challenging though.  Not because of the girl, she was great!  The challenging part is that she has an identical twin sister who I was also shooting at the same time (her sneak peek will be uploaded right after this one).  The challenging part was keeping them separate in my mind, and in my camera.   It didn’t take too long for me to be able to tell them apart, I was just afraid once I got home I wouldn’t be able to keep them straight in the computer.  Turns out, it wasn’t as difficult as I thought it would be!

Our session was downtown Orlando.  This time we pretty much stayed around Church Street Station.  There is so much, just right there in that small little area!  And thankfully, they were both open to meeting and shooting early in the morning.  It really helps when we can get an early start.  It was getting pretty hot by the end of the shoot, but definitely bearable!

Here are a few that I really liked of Jordan (and one of them together):

I have been asked lately if I still shoot babies and kids.  YES!  I know I shoot a lot more high school seniors now, but I will absolutely still take a kid or family session!

Case in point!  I got a call from a friend of mine, asking if I could shoot her new little baby boy.   I was so thrilled!   Not only because it had been a while since I had my hands on a newborn, but because I was excited to see her again, and her little ones!  They are just too cute, and too precious for words.  The session was primarily for the new baby, but of course I had to get a couple shots of the big sister too.  (Her sneak peek shot just made me laugh, that is why I picked it to share!).

Yea!  Finally time for the next class of JPSearcy seniors!  I am geared up and very excited for this next class of seniors.  I have such a great time shooting this age, so I was really excited to get it started!

This girl was friends with a few of my models, and one of the first to book her session.  Both her and her mom was so excited at the shoot, it was so adorable!  We had our session at Leu Gardens (if you want a garden session, THIS is the place to have it!).  There are so many different spots to shoot here, I just love it.  The one and only draw back is their hours.  They don’t open until 9am, and as we are seeing this summer, it is already getting hot at that time.  (I suggest we start sessions between 7-8am, so we can avoid the brutal heat, and the afternoon thunderstorms!).  Thankfully, she was a trooper, and just mopped up her sweat and looked gorgeous!

Here are just a few sneaks from her session (and since she had a deluxe session, she got two locations!  The second location was at the Oviedo pool.  Since she is an amazing swimmer, that location was a no-brainer!):

This first one, when I shot it, I pictured it in my head as a gorgeous black and white.  But I will show it both ways.  Which do YOU like better?

I am always on the lookout for new photo locations.  And usually, when I find a location that I want to try out, I either drag my sister or my boys out for a locations session.  While my sister is a good sport, she isn’t always available.  And the boys, well, they aren’t always eager to go!  Thankfully, my senior models are more than willing to go shooting!  Unfortunately, all 6 of them couldn’t go (being a holiday weekend and all).  But the three that could come had a great time!

We headed out to downtown Sanford.  We found that to be a pretty good location!  We had the waterfront, the marina (too bad we didn’t have a boat, or know someone who did!), and some neat alleyways.  Lots of fun textures there!  The general thought from all of us, was that it is a GREAT location for a senior session!
