A big perk with working with high school seniors, is that they are up for ANYTHING!  They will do weird, awkward poses when I ask.  They will climb on things when I ask.  They will hang on things when I ask.  And sometimes, they do all of the above!  This girl was one of them.

I had found a couple of new things at Rollins.  One was a completely random trapeze bar hanging from a tree on the campus.  No idea what the purpose was, but it was really screaming for me to put someone on it!  The problem was that it was kinda high up.  So, after a boost, she was up . . .and then hanging down! LOL!  So, you know that had to be one of her sneak peeks!  I also found something else she could hang from down this corridor.  No idea why, I just thought it looked cool!  And her last sneak is for her mom.  She told me that she had beautiful eyes, and she was not lying!  They are GORGEOUS!  So, I have lots of close up shots showcasing these killer eyes.

Thank you for being so brave and doing everything weird thing that I asked!  I think you will like the results!  (See senior photos don’t have to be boring and a chore! So, if you have already taken your yearbook senior photos, it is time to come out with me and have your FUN senior photos taken!  There are still slots available to get them done before school starts!)

That is just the best adjective I can come up with to describe this girl.  ADORABLE!  She was bubbly and just full of smiles.  As a matter of fact, she was a little *too* full of smiles!  Mom wanted a few serious faces, and she would crack up every single time she tried to be serious.  And we tried several times too!  I guess there are worse things than a delightful and happy teenage girl!

She was a great sport too.  I sometimes ask my seniors to do strange things.  Like climb up on things, hang from things, pose in very awkward poses, etc!  Most of the time she just laughed when I asked her to do something like that.  But she DID attempt to climb up a little rope thing that we found hanging from a tree.  (I told you, I ask my seniors to do strange things for great shots! LOL!).  She was able to stay up about 10 seconds, and then dropped to the ground laughing.  BUT, I did get a good one while she was up there!  (And how could that NOT be one of her sneaks?!).

Oh, how I love my birthday!  My husband and boys always spoil me.  Not necessarily with a bunch of gifts, but rather with lots of love and attention.  It is a day all about me!  Who wouldn’t love that?!  This morning, I slept in late, and was greeted with my most favorite breakfast in the world.  Banana stuffed french toast.  YUMMMMMM!

As you know if you frequent my sneak peeks, I love going to the beach.  BUT, it has to be at sunrise!  This way, the light is great, the heat is minimal (compared to later in the day), and there usually aren’t very many people around.  This day was the exception!

It started off rough.  Not because of the senior, she was fabulous!  I ran into a bad accident on the drive over.  Stuck in stand still traffic while they cleared the semi off the road and cleaned up the gas spill.  Took about an hour!  So, needless to say, I missed the sunrise.  Thankfully, it was pretty overcast, so the lighting was still great.  And to top it off, we had an audience for our session.  A couple of homeless men found us quite entertaining!  All of that aside, she was great, which means her photos will be great!  She had a good attitude and we had a good time, despite the mishaps!

You know, even though it is summer time, and one of the perks is sleeping in, I am SO glad that more are scheduling their sessions for the morning.  It is so nice not having to worry about rainouts, and horrendous heat.  Much more pleasant in the morning!  So, seniors, set your alarm clocks for just one day, and have your session in the early morning.  You won’t regret it!

This gorgeous girl was SO easy to photograph.  It is almost like she does this all of the time!  So natural and easy to pose and shoot.  Makes my job pretty easy!  And about half way thru the session I realized something.  She looks SO much like my college roommate!  I will have to dig up a photo and show her, because it was killing me!  (No worries, my roommate was gorgeous too! LOL!).

Finally, a day that I didn’t have to worry about being rained on!  Those early morning sessions are hard to get out of bed for, but it is so nice to not be concerned with the afternoon thunderstorms!  Not to mention, it isn’t 150 degrees outside yet. LOL!  If you are thinking of booking a session, I highly recommend the morning slots (just a little FYI!).

This senior was so much fun and so easy to work with.  She was so good with her posing, and I tell you, she has the BEST serious look!  Not that she doesn’t have a beautiful smile too, but her serious faces were killer!  She could easily be mistaken for a model.  Made my job pretty easy .

Thanks for a great session!

The rain this week has been driving me batty, I tell you!  I have had to reshuffle appointment times and change dates just to avoid getting soaked.  But this session I couldn’t change.  She was getting ready to leave for a month overseas, so the session HAD to be this day.  And she was such a terrific sport.  When I mentioned something about the rain, she told me she would be fine and would just bring her “wellies”! LOL!

So, she was willing to brave the rain, what else would she do?!  She told me that she wanted some edgier model-like stuff too.  So, when I asked her about “trashing” her prom dress, she loved the idea!  Now, let me clarify something.  “Trashing” the dress isn’t really trashing it.  It is a new thing with brides that they are doing a fun-edgy bridal session AFTER the wedding.  Doesn’t matter if it gets wet or dirty because you won’t be wearing it again, right?!  Well, this trend is starting to spill over to the high school seniors.  “Trash the prom dress”!  I haven’t done one yet, and I thought she would be the perfect one to try it out on.  Let me tell you, I LOVED it (and I think she did too!).  I will definitely be suggesting this more to my senior girls!

Yes, back at Maitland Art Center!  It is such a great spot to shoot!  Of course the blue colored mosaic wall, but also lots of textures and iron gates, and just great stuff to shoot with!  I WAS a little disappointed to see that my favorite wall on the back of the property (a great rust stained wall) was painted.  And painted plain WHITE!  The horror!  Don’t you think they should have consulted me on that one first?! LOL!

Anyway, we had a great time, and I had a beautiful girl to shoot.  She seemed to enjoy the modeling part of it at least (and that makes me enjoy the session even more)!  And best of all, no rain!  And this week, that is saying a lot!

Yes, I LOVE lighting things on fire!  I know I could do it digitally afterwards, but where is the fun in that?  I much prefer the real fire!  So far it has been sports equipment that I have lit up, but when asked if I could light up other things, of course I said yes!

This senior has a very special talent.  He can solve a rubik’s cube in under a minute!  So naturally, he wanted to light that up!  FUN!  We got several great shots of it, and of course I had to include one of them for his sneak!  Here is that one and a couple more that I really liked!

My niece!  Oh, it was so great to see her again!  Not to mention, I bought her some girly bows I couldn’t wait to photograph her in.  Yes, a mom of boys has to get a girly fix somewhere! LOL!

She is growing into such a wonderful model!  She is so patient (and happy, I might add!) having her crazy aunt Net-Net take a million photos of her!  I was able to get family photos for them, lots of shots of her alone, and some of her and my boys (who are equally as smitten with her!).
