and what a way to end it!  She was beautiful, had a great family with her, and was lots of fun!  We met out at a park that I rarely go to, but LOVE!  Especially at that time of day, sunset.  The sun sets over the lake, and we get amazing light.  Ahhhhhh!

I do want to apologize to her, and a few of my other clients though.  Her sneak peek is a little delayed by a day or two are a couple of proofing galleries.  I over-committed myself the past couple of weeks (well, more to the point, things have taken a lot longer than originally planned).  I promise to those who have been patiently waiting for their galleries to go up, they will be up by mid-week.  I am gluing myself to the computer chair so I can get caught up on everyone’s proofing! LOL!  Thank you so much for being patient, and I promise the wait will be worth it!

Yes, my niece again!  We had a very nice visit with her last week.  I thought we may just have to bring her home!  Of course, I had to do a little mini session.  After all, it HAS been what, a month since her last mini session with me?!  What I REALLY wanted was a great shot of her with the boys.  Well, that wasn’t going to happen this time.  Maybe next time.  But this one made me laugh (she looks SO not amused! LOL!):

Thanks for letting me be a proud aunt!  *sniff* It will be a couple of months until I get to see her again. 

I was just in Atlanta for spring break, and I got the opportunity to meet and photograph a very sweet family. Even though there weren’t too many things in bloom (they were *almost* ready, and probably by now, a few days later, they are in full bloom).  But that didn’t matter, because they were just great to photograph!  

And let me tell you something about their little girl.  She had the BEST smile I have ever seen!  We started our session, and she was giving a very nice sweet look (and with the little ones, I am thrilled with that!).  And then when talking and cooing with her, her smile got bigger!  I laughed and her smile got bigger!  It was the cutest and funniest thing I have ever seen!  When she was in full smile, her mouth was WIDE open!  It was so precious.  And when I got back home, and I put the images on my computer to start proofing them, I got that huge smile on MY face again, just by looking at hers!  This is going to be such a fun session to work on!

OK, juniors – it is *almost* your senior year!  And yes, I know it is early to think about senior photos.  HOWEVER, I am thinking about them already! LOL!  I am going to continue my senior rep program, but I need some new models!  And I will be choosing them QUICKLY so I can get their first promo session done before school is out!  So, if after reading below, it sounds like something you *may* be interested in, don’t wait!  Get your e-mails to me ASAP.

What I am looking for is someone who is:

-outgoing

-friendly

-involved in school

-not too shy (I guess that kinda goes with the above “outgoing”! LOL!)

-not afraid to tell anyone and everyone who they should go to for their FUN senior photos (not the boring yearbook shots)

-(obviously) a soon to be senior from one of the local high schools (Winter Springs, Oviedo, Hagerty, Lake Mary – that is where most of my clients are coming from, however if you are from a school nearby, and think that you could do a great job spreading the word,  drop me a line too!).  

All of this is because your main “job” as a JPSearcy senior rep will be to pass around your custom rep “business cards” and bring as many of your friends as possible to me for their sessions.  

What is NOT necessary:

-a real model!  I mean, how many REAL models do we have in the area anyway?!  I like REAL people.

So if you are thinking, I *could* do this, but I am not pretty enough, tall enough, model-like enough, whatever, then get over it!  I am not looking for America’s Next Top Models, just JPSearcy models.  LOL!  I promise, you will look gorgeous in your photographs.

Whew!  I don’t know how she does it!  Her two babies are just one year apart.  I was exhausted, just thinking about it!  Good thing they are so adorable, I am sure it helps keep mom sane on those tough days. LOL!

This family was a lot of fun to shoot.  They were relaxed and so laid back, it made our session pretty easy!  Well, as easy as it can be with two babies!

I am headed out of town for another trip to Atlanta to see my niece, so sorry for the short writing for the sneak peeks.  THANK YOU for a wonderful session.  It was so nice to finally meet you guys!

I don’t know how I keep getting the cutest children in Orlando, I really don’t!  I am not going to complain though! LOL!  This family is friends with another one of my great clients (who is also a wonderful referrer!).  We had our session at Leu Gardens, and it was such a beautiful day!  

The little girl was so stinking cute with her big smile and beautiful curls.  And such the little model!  She did whatever I asked of her, without complaining!  Love that!  And the little guy was such a charmer with his huge beautiful blue eyes.  But what probably sticks out most, is that mom loves to sing! LOL!  Most moms end up singing during our session, believe it or not.  Well, the ones with the little ones at least.  The little ones LOVE listening to their moms sing.  Mom was making me laugh because the song was “London Bridge”, and every time she sang it she looked at me and apologized.  No apology necessary.  The little guy was loving it, and that is what matters!

With my week long of learning, I have decided to make some changes!  Change is always good!  I am working on getting them together now, but just wanted to give you a little peek into what may be coming on the horizon!

I will be starting baby plans!  If you don’t know what these are, they are where you pay one fee, and then bring your baby in several times during the year for no additional session fee.  Typically done at newborn, 4 months, 8 months, and one year.  Your one price will include a print at each session as well as a gift at the one year mark. 

I will be having limited mini sessions.  These are great, especially if you have recently had a full session, and just want to spruce up or celebrate something new (like loosing teeth, 1/2 birthday, or braces coming off, etc).  They will be done on a very limited basis, and I am sure they will fill up quickly when they are announced.  To be kept up to date on when these will happen, you will want to either check the blog here frequently (it will always be announced on here), and/or you can “fan” me on facebook!  If you are on facebook, look me up!  You can find my personal page with my full name Jeannette Priest Searcy, and my business page (that I am still trying to figure out! Collections are being changed completely around.  I have never really been one for packages, however, I was coached on how to make them REALLY good and save a lot of money!  The best thing is, I can still stay very flexible (which was why I never really pushed them, because I don’t like locking people into what I think they should get).  Details to follow soon!

And lastly, senior sessions will be changing up too!  Their session fees, packages, offerings, and actual photographs!  Too much to go into, just didn’t want to leave them out here! LOL!

I am back (obviously), and I had a very nice surprise!  One of our models made the finals (the charity model search)!  She has been in the lead for most of the contest, but the last week or so, the list changed so much.  She dropped out of first, and then she would be right back up, and then fall again, and then right back up.  I had no idea what to expect!  But we received the confirmation that she did indeed win for this region!  WHOO HOO!  

Now, she moves on to the finals.  For this, she will be up against 49 other cuties.  It is not done by popular votes, as this round was.  There is a panel of photographers and other industry professionals to decide who will win the grand prize.  Thank goodness I am not on that panel, because there are a lot of cuties (of course, I am partial to one ).  

So, everyone keep your fingers crossed for her!  I believe they are announcing the grand prize winner on May 1st, so I will let you all know if she makes it!

Oh my goodness, I had such a great time!  Yes, it was nice to get away for a few days, but it was so much more than that.  I was getting away with people just like me!  Photographers that I have “met” only on the computer, I have become in real life friends with.  And photographers that I have admired, there to give me one on one coaching.  It was an incredible learning experience, and I am so glad I went (I am EXHAUSTED, but I can get over that!).  

Something that I really tried to do, was to step outside of my comfort zone and push to do new things.  Things that may not work for family sessions for clients (well, some may work great for seniors!), but just to push myself to be different.
