Another new location ~ JPSearcy Seniors

One of the “perks” of my senior reps, is they get to try out new locations with me.  Half of my models went with me to Sanford a little while ago, and now the other half came with me to try out Baldwin Park.  AND, to add another something new, we went to shoot in the evening!  Now, I have done night sessions before, but only a couple times.  And I could always use some more samples to show how versatile my senior sessions can be!

SENIORS!  Now that we are starting to get the *hint* of cool weather (OK, so maybe not cool, but not so hot anymore!), now is a great time to schedule your senior photo session.  I have lots of choices of locations, lots of choices of types of locations, and lots of opportunity for gorgeous photos!  (BTW, I am not just talking about for girls!  I have some great ideas for amazing shots for the guys too.  I just need some guys to book!).  Talk to any of my senior models for info about sessions with me, or contact me directly!

Brittny ~ 2011 JPSearcy Seniors

School has officially started!  And I am SO excited to photograph the class of 2011!  I get to meet such wonderful seniors, like the one I had the pleasure of photographing this weekend.  She was so agreeable and sweet (even though it was hot enough to melt outside! LOL!).  She was such a trooper!  And the end result, more gorgeous senior photographs!  Here are a few from her shoot:

And now that the hottest part of the summer is behind us (it BETTER be!), it is a good time to get YOUR session on the calendar.  If you are in the class of 2011, and want something a little more than just a yearbook photo, call or e-mail me, and we can design a session just for you!

Alesha ~ 2011 JPSearcy Seniors

Yes, it is August in Florida.  Yes, it tops 100 degrees in the afternoon.  Yes, it is totally uncomfortable to be anywhere outside in the afternoon.  And YES, I had a fantastic senior who was willing to put all that aside to get the senior photos that she REALLY wanted to have!  She had her heart set on going out to the beach for her shoot.  I have actually had more requests for beach shoots this year, and I think I like it!  It IS beastly hot, but when we get gorgeous shots, it is all worth it!

As you can see, it IS still a good time for your senior photos!  Thankfully in Florida, we can do the photos outdoors pretty much any time during the year.  No matter WHEN you want to have your session with me, you do want to get on my calendar.  Fall tends to fill up quickly, so if you know that you want me to be your photographer, e-mail me jps@jpsearcyphotography.com, hit me up on facebook (Jeannette Priest Searcy or my business page JPSearcy Photography), or simply call!  That way, we can make sure you get the date and location that you want.

Updates!

Hi all!  I am back from vacation, and I am not gonna lie, I wish I was still there!  Alaska is such a beautiful place, and it was hard to come home.  But, of course, I did come home!  And now I am rested and recharged and ready to get shooting again!

For my seniors, I know you don’t want to hear this, but there is only 2 weeks until school starts.  I know some of you wanted to wait until the end of summer to get your senior photos taken.  Well, that time is now!  I still have several  dates open this month, so you want to get a jump on them.  Once school starts, there will be a million other things going on!  But, if you are wanting to wait a little longer, that is fine too.  Fall does tend to book up with family shoots, so you will want to at least get on the calendar soon, so you get the date that you want.

For my families, I know YOU don’t want to hear this, but we are getting close to the holidays!  I know, you are going to say that there is still 5 months, but if you have been with me for a while, you know that really isn’t true.  Yes, of course there is still 5 months until the holidays, BUT not 5 months until holiday photos!  My shooting deadline is usually the end of October, for you to get them back before the holidays.  That allows enough time for editing, proofing, ordering, and printing.  So, if you know you are going to want your family photos done, it is best to contact me now to set your date.  Weekends in the fall go pretty quickly!

And then a little more news.  Many of you have been hearing about my Africa trip.  Many of you have been so patient and understanding with me and my ever-changing schedule, with regards to the Africa trip.  Well, you don’t have to wait anymore.  There was only 10 days in this entire year that I would not be able to go (because of this family vacation that has been in the works for over a year).  After too many delays to count, the family FINALLY got the clearance to travel and pick up their son!  Unfortunately (for me, not them!), it was a few days ago, when I was in Alaska.  I am over the moon excited for the family, because as you know, this is a LONG time in waiting (we were originally supposed to travel in JANUARY!).  I wish I was there, but I am so happy that their wait is finally over.

So, since I won’t be traveling to Africa (anytime soon!), I am planning on flying up to Nashville (where they live) and doing a family session for them after they get back and settled.  I have to wait until they get back to set exact dates, but it will be sometime in September.  I will be there for a few days, and since I am up there, I will accept a couple of sessions while I am there.  If you live in the area and are interested in booking a session, OR if you know someone in the area who would be interested, let me know!  jps@jpsearcyphotography.com  My travel sessions tend to fill up quickly, and especially with this time of year (perfect for those holiday sessions!), I expect these couple of slots to go.

That is all the news and updates I have for now!

Vacation

As much as I love the scorching heat of Florida (insert eyeroll here), I am leaving this great state for a little while.  No worries, I’ll be back, it is just vacation!  My family and I are heading off to Alaska for a much needed vacation!  This is one of those “bucket list” vacations, and we are SO excited to be going.  I will be taking at least 2 million photographs while I am gone, so I am sure you will be seeing a few here in a couple of weeks.  But for now, I will be checking my e-mail only frequently (come on, it IS a vacation afterall!).  So be patient with my e-mail response time please!  But I promise you, I will come back fully recharged and ready to shoot!   If you are interested in booking a shoot, check the calendar section on my website for available dates, and then e-mail me the one you want (with one back up date, just in case).   And what a way to come back from vacation, with an e-mail full of people who want sessions ;) .

Another beautiful senior on Winter Park’s Park Avenue!  I haven’t photographed seniors on Park Ave before this class of 2011.  Sure, I have shot some families there, but not seniors.  I am SO glad that seniors are starting to request it now!  It really has a lot of variety for us to shoot, between the rose garden, the fountains, the train tracks, and some of the alleyways behind the shops, we can’t possibly to to all of it in one session!

This senior was definitely ready for her shoot.  She took my tips and guidelines to heart when preparing for her session, and it showed!  And what that led to, was a fabulous shoot with beautiful results!  Here are a few of my favorites from her session (so far!):

Gracie ~ 2011 JPSearcy Seniors

Another gorgeous senior at Rollins College!  She was such a great model for her shoot.  And I think she was the quickest outfit-changer I have ever had!  When you change your wardrobe that quickly, you can squeeze in some extra outfits.  So, we had absolutely no problem photographing her in all of her clothes (not to mention, some GREAT shoes!).   She was adorable, and a pleasure to photograph!  Hope you enjoy your sneak peeks!

Olivia ~ 2011 JPSearcy Seniors

This fun session was held all around Park Ave in Winter Park.  I haven’t shot there all that much, so this was a good opportunity to explore all the great spots this location had to offer.  And now after exploring it, I can tell you, it is a FABULOUS location with lots of variety!

I think everyone (who follows my blog, at least) pretty much knows how much I enjoy shooting seniors.  It is such an exciting time in their lives, and they are so much fun!  Not to mention, they are pretty much up for anything, and don’t look at me strangely when I suggest something off the wall or different.  They just smile and go for it!  This particular girl was that, to the max!  Fun and up for anything.  So, at the end of our shoot, when I asked her if she wanted to get into a fountain to finish up the session, she just smiled really big and jumped in!  LOVE IT!

“Borrowing” a Bentley parked on the street

And completely drenched in the fountain!

If YOU are a 2011 senior, and want to go have some fun for your senior photos too, e-mail me at jps@jpsearcyphotography, or contact me on facebook (Jeannette Priest Searcy).  I would love to hear your ideas for YOUR session!  July is already booked up, but I still have some dates remaining in August!

Cristen ~ 2011 JPSearcy Seniors

I first met this senior a couple of years ago.  I was photographing her older sister, during the first year I was shooting seniors.  I can’t believe so much time has passed, and now Cristen is the senior!  Such a wonderful family, so very easy to photograph.  I consider myself so lucky that I was able to meet these sweet girls!

We DID have to reschedule this shoot once, because of those weird rainy mornings.  However, this day, it was nice and cloudy.  I know cloudy isn’t always pretty to look at, but it is GREAT to photograph in!  The light is much softer, and you don’t get the squinty eyes!  So, just because it is cloudy out, no worries, we will still have a gorgeous session!

And here is the proof!  Hope you enjoy the sneak peeks:

And this last one, I REALLY like the black and white (maybe even more than the color!)  What do you think?

Dori ~ 2011 JPSearcy Seniors

Another downtown senior session!  Lately I have been finding that we can get everything we need just right in the Church Street area.  Such an interesting mixture I can get just from that one area!

This senior (much like all my seniors so far this year) was very excited about her shoot.  And she was such a doll!  Didn’t even get shaken at all when we had “company” approach us during our shoot.  Just kept trucking along, and was making mental notes of photography stuff (she is getting a new camera real soon, so was taking in all the pointers she could get!).  I had fun, and I hope you (and mom and aunt) did too!

Here are a few that I really liked:

And equally gorgeous in black and white

Thanks sweetie for a fabulous session!

And 2011!  Summer session dates are going quickly!  Get YOUR session on the calendar!
