Updates!

Hi all!  I am back from vacation, and I am not gonna lie, I wish I was still there!  Alaska is such a beautiful place, and it was hard to come home.  But, of course, I did come home!  And now I am rested and recharged and ready to get shooting again!

For my seniors, I know you don’t want to hear this, but there is only 2 weeks until school starts.  I know some of you wanted to wait until the end of summer to get your senior photos taken.  Well, that time is now!  I still have several  dates open this month, so you want to get a jump on them.  Once school starts, there will be a million other things going on!  But, if you are wanting to wait a little longer, that is fine too.  Fall does tend to book up with family shoots, so you will want to at least get on the calendar soon, so you get the date that you want.

For my families, I know YOU don’t want to hear this, but we are getting close to the holidays!  I know, you are going to say that there is still 5 months, but if you have been with me for a while, you know that really isn’t true.  Yes, of course there is still 5 months until the holidays, BUT not 5 months until holiday photos!  My shooting deadline is usually the end of October, for you to get them back before the holidays.  That allows enough time for editing, proofing, ordering, and printing.  So, if you know you are going to want your family photos done, it is best to contact me now to set your date.  Weekends in the fall go pretty quickly!

And then a little more news.  Many of you have been hearing about my Africa trip.  Many of you have been so patient and understanding with me and my ever-changing schedule, with regards to the Africa trip.  Well, you don’t have to wait anymore.  There was only 10 days in this entire year that I would not be able to go (because of this family vacation that has been in the works for over a year).  After too many delays to count, the family FINALLY got the clearance to travel and pick up their son!  Unfortunately (for me, not them!), it was a few days ago, when I was in Alaska.  I am over the moon excited for the family, because as you know, this is a LONG time in waiting (we were originally supposed to travel in JANUARY!).  I wish I was there, but I am so happy that their wait is finally over.

So, since I won’t be traveling to Africa (anytime soon!), I am planning on flying up to Nashville (where they live) and doing a family session for them after they get back and settled.  I have to wait until they get back to set exact dates, but it will be sometime in September.  I will be there for a few days, and since I am up there, I will accept a couple of sessions while I am there.  If you live in the area and are interested in booking a session, OR if you know someone in the area who would be interested, let me know!  jps@jpsearcyphotography.com  My travel sessions tend to fill up quickly, and especially with this time of year (perfect for those holiday sessions!), I expect these couple of slots to go.

That is all the news and updates I have for now!

Vacation

As much as I love the scorching heat of Florida (insert eyeroll here), I am leaving this great state for a little while.  No worries, I’ll be back, it is just vacation!  My family and I are heading off to Alaska for a much needed vacation!  This is one of those “bucket list” vacations, and we are SO excited to be going.  I will be taking at least 2 million photographs while I am gone, so I am sure you will be seeing a few here in a couple of weeks.  But for now, I will be checking my e-mail only frequently (come on, it IS a vacation afterall!).  So be patient with my e-mail response time please!  But I promise you, I will come back fully recharged and ready to shoot!   If you are interested in booking a shoot, check the calendar section on my website for available dates, and then e-mail me the one you want (with one back up date, just in case).   And what a way to come back from vacation, with an e-mail full of people who want sessions ;) .

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME!!!!!

Oh, how I love my birthday!  My husband and boys always spoil me.  Not necessarily with a bunch of gifts, but rather with lots of love and attention.  It is a day all about me!  Who wouldn’t love that?!  This morning, I slept in late, and was greeted with my most favorite breakfast in the world.  Banana stuffed french toast.  YUMMMMMM!

So now I sit here in a very happy mood, so I want to spread that around!  (That is where YOU come in!).  For any sessions booked TODAY (until midnight tonight!) for shoots held in September, you will get the gift of a HALF PRICE SESSION and a free gift print with your order!  This offer is good for today only, and the session must be booked for September.  It is good for senior sessions, kid sessions, baby sessions, or family sessions!

September is a great time to have a session.  The weather is cooling down (a little), and it is a great jump into the holiday season (yes, have to think about that already!).  Get those family holiday photos done and crossed off your list early this year!

So, if you want to take advantage of my BIRTHDAY SPECIAL, shoot me an e-mail at jps@jpsearcyphotography.com and let me know what date you want!  Remember, you have to pick your date TODAY for this half price session!

Happy birthday to me . . . Happy birthday to me . . . Happy BIRTHDAY to Jeannette . . . Happy birthday to me!

My little sister

We spent Thanksgiving up in Atlanta, due to my little sister being not-so-little right now!  She still has a little over 5 weeks to go, so driving in a car for 8 hours wasn’t going to work.  So we all went up and had turkey up there!  Turkey aside, it was a perfect time to do her maternity session!

Now, my sister isn’t a fan of the camera, but this was something that she wanted.  She also wanted to include her dogs in the photos.  Well, dogs can be so much harder than kids to photograph!  Especially one of her dogs!  So, we split up the session and did some with the dogs, and the rest with just her.  I am partial to the ones without the dogs, but I know she will be opposite of me, so I will put one peek with the dogs in, just for her!  The rest of the peeks are ones that I liked!

Not too much longer now!  Then I will have my first little niece!  And yes, she will be just as photographed as my own boys! LOL!

Beautiful baby bump

This session was a special one for me, because it is my niece inside that little baby bump!  My sister came down for a quick weekend visit and wanted to get a few maternity shots.  I did tell her that her “real” maternity session that we will have at the end of the pregnancy will be much more involved!  This one lasted a little longer than expected (by me), but I am so happy with them.  I have lots to show her, but for a little sneak peek, here is my sister (and my niece!):

*She asked if I make all pregnant women climb trees!  LOL!*

And now back to business!  The storms have passed (and fingers crossed that these next two will pass quickly as well), and it is a great time to have a session.  I did have some rain out cancellations, which left me pretty bummed.  But I did also have two people book sessions during that little impromptu special that I had during the actual storm!  I am anxious to get working again, so let’s book a session TODAY!

As you know, my holiday schedule is up on my website.  The weekends are already filling up!  The good news is that there are still a few left, but you don’t want to wait.  If you know you are going to want a session, e-mail me ASAP and hold your date.  There won’t be any more dates opening up, so what is on there is what is left.

And last item of business!  I have been contacted lately from people in other areas (close, but not REALLY close by) asking if I would do a session there.  The answer is yes.  I WILL go do a session there, however, to make it most affordable for you, I would like to have a few sessions.  Otherwise, there would be a travel fee added to your session fee.  But if you have some friends who would love to have some beautiful portraits made, pass along my website to them, and see if they would be interested.  If I have several sessions for the same weekend, then I will waive the travel fee.  *Now, this is for south FL thru Atlanta area.  Any further than that, I will need to fly, so there will still be a travel fee.*

Hot mama!

This mama-to-be was a lot of fun. She does have other children, but this was the first time she thought about maternity photos. And she was up for anything! Love that! She seemed to really enjoy the “sexy ones”, so I will put one of those up for her sneak peek! Hot stuff! I am working thru the rest, and will let you know when they are ready.

Big sister!

This maternity session turned into a big sister session! Don’t worry, we got plenty of just mom, but it was important to mom to get a shot with big sister, and soon-to-be little sister. So that is what I will share for the sneak peek! She was being a little stinker, and being very quick, but I did catch this sweet shot. Don’t you just love her?!

Gorgeous mama-to-be

All pregnant women are beautiful, really they are. Well, this one takes the cake! It would be easy to hate her because she looked so beautiful, however, she is fun and sweet on top of it. You just have to love her!

We had a very good time at our session in her beautiful home. The time flew for me, but I made her work pretty hard, so she probably took a nap after I left! It is hard work being a model, you know!

Anyway, I know she is very anxious for her sneak peeks, so here you go!

Turns out, she also owns a hair salon in Winter Park! So, if you are looking for a new place to go, check out her place at www.ExpressionsSalonandSpa.com.

Another maternity shot

I swear, sometimes I just get a picture in my head, and I just can’t get it out until someone does it for me! This was the case for this maternity session. I really wanted to get a silhouette in the sunset. I ran into a little trouble executing it because of the tree line on the other side of her lake, but here is one that I think turned out beautifully! Hope you think so too, mama!

Thanks for being such a good sport! The rest are coming soon, I promise!

Gorgeous momma to be!

Oh, I had some fun on this session. This momma to be was very willing to do whatever I wanted. (I LOVE that!). I had in my mind, a shot in a heavily treed area nearby. She didn’t look at me strangly at all! Just hopped her pregnant little self in the outfit that I had in mind, and drove over to the trees with me. I was so excited to see how these turned out, I came straight home, picked up take out for the kids on the way, so I could hop right on the computer to see the results! Your teaser photo is one that I just loved. You look so beautiful!

I think the ones from the trees will be my favorites from the session! But, I am going to get back to work now and see what other favs pop out at me.
