Another beautiful senior, and another super fun photo session!  Something that I love on shoots, is when we find something unexpected.  Kylie was having her photo shoot on Park Ave in Winter Park, when we saw this beautiful old Thunderbird convertible park.  Now, usually “car people” like that don’t like you even touching their car! (Believe me, I have asked before!).  But never hurts to ask!  I asked if he minded if we take a couple of photos next to the car, but not to worry, we wouldn’t touch it.  He said, “absolutely no problem!  But why don’t you get IN it too for some pictures!”  Then he left us to do our thing!  Coolest man ever!  Of course, we totally respected his car, and didn’t climb on it or anything, but we did take advantage and get a few around and in the car!  Just one of the many perks of photographing on location – you never know what you will find!

What a beautiful senior on a beautiful day!  I am so happy that the weather is finally getting nice.  It means we can have our sessions in the morning, or the late afternoon.  This shoot with Allie was at Rollins in the late afternoon, and even though there was a huge Halloween event with lots and lots of people around, she was fantastic and wasn’t phased at all!  Just happy to be there for her photos!  That also gave us the opportunity to explore different parts of Rollins, and we spent some time down by the lake.  The lighting was so warm and beautiful!  And of course, I was so excited to do more fire shots.  Hahaha!

I had a great senior session with Lyndsi!  She was so much fun, and we had the.best.weather!  Overcast with a little breeze and low humidity.  Doesn’t get much better than that!  And the result is beautiful photographs of a gorgeous girl!  If you are a senior, and haven’t had your senior photos done yet (I’m talking about the ones that you actually WANT to have, not just the yearbook photos!), now is such a great time for photo shoots.  I offer late afternoon sessions at this time of year, because the chance of the afternoon thunderstorms are way down compared to the summer!  So you have the choice of a morning session OR an afternoon session.  October is already all booked up, and November is filling up quickly, so if you are wanting a session, it is best to get on my calendar sooner rather than later!  You can talk to any of my reps, or me directly about booking your session.

This year as a little bonus, I took my reps who have referred the most seniors to me out for a bonus shoot at the beach!  They have been working so hard, I thought they could use a few more photos ;).  It is so crazy that I have been working with my reps for almost a year now.  And before I know it, it will be time to start the class of 2015 JPSearcy rep search (I start in January, for those juniors who follow me!)!  But, I still have a few more months with this amazing group of girls to finish out the class of 2014!  Here are a few sneak peeks from Shauna’s beach shoot:

It was such a pleasure meeting Kaley in Winter Park for her senior photo session!   I am loving that I get to meet seniors from Lake Howell this year!  I haven’t really photographed anyone from there in past years, so it is nice to branch into a new school and meet some new fantastic seniors.  So . . . other Lake Howell seniors – I do have a rep at your school, and you can talk to her or you can talk to any of the other girls that I have photographed from your school this year to hear first hand what shoots with me are like!  I would love to meet more of you!

Kaley was so great, and such a sweetheart.  So sweet, that her dad and I had to really help her with her tough, serious faces for her lacrosse shots.  Haha!  She had such a great smile, I can see why she would want to smile in most of her shots ;).

Sometimes, if I find a spot or location that I want to “try out” for future clients, I will put a call out to my current senior reps to see if anyone is available.  This time, I lucked out, because FOUR of them were available on short notice!  And I consider it a double lucky day, because I love the location!  We all had such a great time, and it was a gorgeous little hidden spot!  The downside of this location though, is takes a lot of effort to get out to (after a lot of driving down small dirt roads, then almost a mile hike from the car to the location thru some mucky muddy trails) AND it is only “in bloom” a few weeks out of the year.  So, I will be sure to mark the weeks on the calendar for next year, and be able to schedule other clients for the little secret hideaway location!

Here is a shot of each of the girls from that morning (more will follow this week on my facebook page: http://www.facebook.com/jpsearcy and on my instagram page: http://instagram.com/jpsearcy).  Make sure you “follow” me both places, if you aren’t already!

If you haven’t gotten senior photos taken that you LOVE (or your daughter/son didn’t get photos that you love), the good news is, it isn’t too late! The weather is FINALLY starting to cool off a little, and now that we are pretty much past our afternoon summer thunderstorm patterns, I am booking both morning AND late afternoon/early evening sessions at the location of your choice.  Don’t let this huge milestone time in your life pass with “just a yearbook photo”.  Have a quality portrait session that you have say in, and you get gorgeous photos from!  Talk to any of my reps, or contact me directly!

To my delight (and surprise), YES I. am!  I have never entered any photography contests before.  Drives my husband crazy, because he thinks I SHOULD enter. So, when I saw a photo contest looking for high school senior photographs, I thought “if I am ever going to enter one, this would be a great one to start with!”.

The contest was for a photographer’s magazine called “Senior Style Guide”, and they were looking for the top photographs for seniors in several categories. Being that I am a major procrastinator, I was going thru old sessions the night of the deadline, cursing myself thinking I should have set up some kind of stylized shoot specifically for contest purposes.  But I since I didn’t do that, and I promised myself that I would submit something, I went through old sessions looking for something that would fit the bill.  I was trying to submit one per category, but found that I didn’t have anything I felt would work for half of them.  Selected ones that I DID have one for.  I then hit submit and forgot about it.  Until yesterday, when I received . . .

One of my photographs was actually chosen to be one of the winners!  Out of all over the country, there were only 100 photographs chosen, and a JPSearcy portrait was one of them!  It will be in their November magazine issue, and I will be sure to post as soon as I have a copy of it!  As of right now though, if you are a client of mine, you can say you have a national award winning photographer ;).  Haha!  Thank you to all of my clients, and I look forward to creating even more award winning photographs with you!
