Two beach sunrises in a row! I absolutely loved Courtney’s session. Not only was it a gorgeous sunrise, but she is such a sweetheart! She was so excited about her shoot, and so was her mom! They both admitted to “stalking” my website to see all of the photos and get ideas for her own shoot. I LOVE that! Stalk away all you want! Haha! I am completely flattered when I hear stuff like that. 😉 And awesome sidenote, her mom was my younger son’s teacher a few years ago.
Here are a few sneak peeks from Courtney’s shoot:
Beach shoots are such early mornings! Being that I pretty much only shoot at the beach at sunrise (because the light is so much better and it isn’t 1000 degrees outside!), we have to wake up when it is still dark out and drive. Early early early! That being said, I love love love beach shoots! I don’t know if it is the lighting or the ocean breeze or the water, but whatever it is, beach shoots always are so much fun. Jessica is my first beach shoot of the season (the class of 2014 season, that is). And what a gorgeous girl to kick off the beach shoots with! Jessica has a beautiful smile, but to top it off, she has a killer serious face too! And you know I love the serious faces ;).

If you are a class of 2014 senior, it isn’t too late to schedule some fun senior photos with me! But you will want to get on my calendar before school starts back up. Senior year is jammed packed, and it seems to go by in the blink of an eye. By having your senior photos taken before school starts, you still have much more flexibility in your days! Mark this important milestone in your life with gorgeous photos. You won’t regret it!
I love it when seniors come with something personal to their sessions. Some want to incorporate their car, some a hobby, whatever it is, it makes the photos more personal. So when Rachel called me before her shoot asking if she could bring her dog, the answer is OF COURSE!! I love puppies (and to me, all dogs, no matter their age, are puppies to me). My only rule with bringing pets to your shoot, is someone MUST be there with you to take care of the animal when they are not in the pictures (absolutely no leaving them in the car, for obvious reasons). And this is pretty much a given to any animal lover anyway, so no problem! For Rachel’s session, “Maggie” was lovingly watched over by her mom for the rest of her shoot. After Maggie had her photos taken with Rachel ;), she went off with momma, and Rachel and I had some fun with the rest of her session. She is such a sweet and easy going girl, it was an absolute pleasure to photograph her!
Here are a few sneak peeks from her session:
If you are a class of 2014 senior, and haven’t booked your “fun” session yet (not talking about the boring yearbook ones, I am talking about the ones that you WANT to go to!), shoot me an email and we can talk about what YOU want for your photos. email@example.com. As of now, I am pretty much booked up until the end of July. But there ARE a couple of July dates left, and a couple of August dates left. You will want to get on my calendar before it is all booked up!
Even though it was pretty hot at Savannah’s session, we managed to have a really great time! We shot at Leu Gardens, which was nice, because I haven’t been there in a while. Leu Gardens is so big and spread out, there are lots of different photos we can get there. The downside? It is so big and spread out! And we can’t start until 9. That means, pretty freaking hot! But it is all about attitude. We can be hot, and still get gorgeous photos if you are there to have fun! (I promise, I won’t let you look hot and sweaty in your photos!). Savannah brought her friend to assist her, and it was a good thing she did. She needed someone to manage her 8 different wardrobe changes! Haha! Seriously though, I have no problem with my seniors bringing as many outfits as they want to. This is THEIR shoot, so I want to do whatever they want to do! Average senior brings 3-4 outfits, but some bring more, some bring less. It does help to have someone there at the shoot too, be it a mom or a sister or a friend. They help you with your clothes and your looks, and just share in the fun.

If you are a 2014 senior, and haven’t booked your fun senior photo session yet (not talking about the boring yearbook ones that you HAVE to get), call me or email me with your ideas for your shoot, and get on my calendar! Not too many summer dates left, so don’t wait too long!
Such a fun time! We went to downtown Sanford, which is still a new location (to me), so there is lots of walking/driving around and exploring to find good spots. Sierra (and her sister, who was acting as her assistant 😉 ) was up to try anything (unless there were bugs or wasps around) Haha! Such great girls! Thank goodness we started early enough in the morning, because boy, it is getting HOT earlier and earlier! Welcome to Florida summers, I guess. Typically in the beginning of the summer, I like to start sessions at 8am (so it isn’t too hot and humid out yet, and very little chance of rain). And as the summer goes on, sessions get moved earlier and earlier. I am not about to let the heat get in the way of us getting gorgeous senior photographs! Sierra has a beautiful smile, but can also rock a serious face, so she has a nice mix of both in her photos.
Here are a few sneak peeks from Sierra’s session:
If YOU are a 2014 senior, and have not yet booked your fun senior photo session (not talking about the boring yearbook ones, I am talking about the fun ones that you say what you want!), I am running out of summer dates. Summer, as hot as it is, really is a great time to get them done. Your schedules are more flexible and we can shoot any day of the week! We shoot early in the morning, so it isn’t too bad out! I have a couple of dates open at the end of this month, a couple open at the end of July, and a couple for August. Get your date on my calendar soon!
I was really looking forward to this session. Not that I don’t look forward to each and every one of my sessions, but this one was a little extra. I think it was because the girl who booked the shoot has been SO excited for this shoot, and booked it months ago! When someone is that excited, it is contagious! I photographed her younger sister for her senior photos, and now big sister wanted her turn! She is a senior as well, but a COLLEGE senior! So, she wanted her senior/graduation photos, but she also wanted photos with her and her long-time boyfriend. So, it was a little bit of a senior session and a little bit of a couples session. Too much fun!
Her boyfriend was terrific sport about the shoot. Typically guys don’t really love getting their photos done. I think they like having nice photos, but don’t love the process as much as girls do ;). But her boyfriend was such a great sport, and was genuinely happy to have the photos done with his love. <awwwww> Not only was he happy to do the shoot, he agreed to wardrobe changes too! Hahaha! They are a very sweet couple, and it was a really fun to shoot them.
Here are a few sneak peeks from their shoot:
My wonderful friends come to see me every six months like clockwork. Every six months since their oldest was born! And I think every single session has been totally different. Different ideas, different locations. All planned by mom! For this session, they wanted to go downtown to Lake Eola. Wanted to get an Orlando landmark in some of their photos, so they can look back on them in 10-20 years and see if anything in the city has changed! All while marking this point in their kids’ lives. Such a great idea!
Here are a few sneak peeks from their session:
Summer sessions are so much fun! Yes, they are hot (but we shoot early in the morning, so it is bearable!), but especially fun if we can find some water! At the end of the shoots, if the senior wants to, we get some shots in the water. We don’t have to be at the beach, any fountain will do! Great way to get some fun shots AND cool off at the end of the shoot ;). My session with Laura ended in the fountain on Park Ave. You can’t get these kind of shots in a studio! And no, we won’t spend the entire session in the water, we just save those until the end. Laura and I got plenty of fantastic “dry” shots first, and then a few in the water. That way, she will have even more variety to choose from for her senior photos.
Here are Laura’s sneak peeks:
Are you a class of 2014 senior? Want to have a super fun session, with photos that you will WANT to have and give out to family and friends? Email me at firstname.lastname@example.org to find out all the details about setting up YOUR perfect senior photo session!
(Besides my 2014 reps) Jordan is my first official class of 2014 senior! And what a great girl to kick of the year! She is so sweet and easy going, just went wherever and trusted me that I would get great photos of her. Of course I love that she was so trusting of me ;). (I don’t mind at all when they come with ideas of what they want either!) We spent the morning in Sanford just walking around finding great places to shoot. I haven’t shot there often, but it really does have a lot to offer! You have the lake, and some greenery, and then some more urban looks when we go explore the area for “texture” (walls, doors, stairways, etc). I think it is a great location for a senior session (probably better for seniors instead of family shoots though).
Here are a few sneak peeks from Jordan’s senior session in Sanford:
If you are a 2014 senior, just know that the “yearbook” photos don’t have to be your senior photos! Yes, you have to go there to get the “black drape” or “fake tux” shot for the yearbook, but you do not have to purchase your senior photos there! If you are looking for something a little more personal and catered to YOU, you have a choice! You can book whatever photographer you like to mark this important milestone for you! And if you like my work and would like to talk to me about what YOU want out of your senior photos, email me email@example.com. I’d love to meet you and set something up for you! I still have a few dates available for June, a few at the end of July, and a couple left for August. Most people end up getting their senior photos taken the summer before school starts, so you will want to get your date on the calendar soon! (And don’t worry about the heat of the summer. We only shoot early in the morning, so it isn’t an issue!)
I thought I was done with 2013 seniors, but not so fast! One more senior! And what a great senior to end the year with. I had the pleasure of meeting a special girl, Natalie. I heard all about her and her accomplishments, and I couldn’t wait to meet her! And after meeting her, not only is she intelligent and driven, she is just as sweet as can be! I know she is going to do great things, and I wish her all of the best in her college endeavors!
