I have been looking forward to this session! It was for one of my senior models and her younger sister. And since I loved working with her so much, I knew her sister had to be just as great! Yep, just as great! They are both so photogenic, and we had a lot of fun on this shoot. We actually were having so much fun, I didn’t realize the sun had gone down, and we started shooting in the dark! Whoops! At least we got lots of great sister shots, even some of the younger sister all by herself before we were in complete darkness.
Here are a few from their session that I really liked:
When I do family sessions on the beach, the best time of day is to do sunrise. The light is amazing, the setting is beautiful, and there aren’t too many people on the beach. However, especially with the new time change, sunrise is REALLY early! I let this family know that upfront, and getting up before dawn isn’t anything new for them. They informed me that they are always up really early, so sunrise was ideal for their shoot! And they weren’t lying! Everyone was wide awake and looking gorgeous when we met at the beach.
I was so excited to do this shoot. For two reasons. One, they are friends of mine. And two, they haven’t had a family photo in 8 years. (And OK, three, I love beach sessions!) It was a gorgeous morning for the session, and the family was great. Thankfully we got most of the family shots done first, because the boys were so excited to be at the beach, it didn’t take long for them to be IN the ocean (clothes and all!). Oh well, if they are having fun, that just means the photos will be even better!
Here are a couple from their session:
I absolutely love it when clients return to me. It tells me that they were so happy with their experience the first time, they want to do it again, and again, and again! This was a delightful family that I had the pleasure of meeting last holiday season. I was thrilled when they called to book again this year! They have so much love for each other, it is so obvious, which makes for a great session, every time!
This little sweetheart, I have been photographing since she was 6 months old! Every time I photograph her, she gets more and more beautiful! This time, she was so comfortable, she was actually doing a little modeling for me. I would give her a little direction, and she would totally fall into a pose! I asked her how she could be so good for me this time, and she said, “because I WANT to! I am having fun!”. Oh, I love seeing this little girl growing up. She is such a fun girl!
